

Nowadays it is not really necessary on modern Windows systems, as it is possible to restart the Firebird service, should it cease to run for any reason, using the operating system. The Firebird Guardian: The Firebird Guardian is a monitoring utility that does nothing other than check whether the Firebird server is running or not.

The Zip kit is for manual, custom installs of Classic or Superserver. If you are new to Firebird, then go for a version using the Installer.
